NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards:
NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards (NWR) is a nationwide network of radio stations broadcasting continuous weather information from the nearest National Weather Service office (for us, that’s Seattle!).
NWR broadcasts official warnings, forecasts, and other hazard information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It also broadcasts alerts of non-weather emergencies such as national security, public safety, and disaster information through the Emergency Alert System.
Emergency Alert System (EAS):
The
Emergency Alert System (EAS) is a national public warning system commonly used by state and local authorities to deliver emergency information to affected communities. When an EAS is issued, radio and television broadcasters, cable systems, satellite radio and others use this system. This system also allows for the President to address the nation within 10 minutes of a national emergency. No sign-up is required.
Both EAS and WEA are critical components to the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS).

Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA):
The Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system is a public safety system that allows customers who own compatible mobile phones to receive geographically targeted, text-like messages alerting them of imminent threats to safety in their area. No sign-up is required.
Both EAS and WEA are critical components to the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). To learn more about (IPAWS), please visit: https://www.ready.gov/alerts.
